Home Minister declines to meet police shooting victim

No PTPN loans for the Indian medical students in Russia, Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Romania, etc or even at MIC’s AIMST University and all the private

Despite Malaysia suffering from a shortage of about 50% of medical doctors (UM 8/10/09 at page 24) UMNO refuses to grant PTPTN loans to the aforesaid minority Malaysian Indian students just to keep the number of Indian doctors down in Malaysia. UMNO in turn has “imported” muslim doctors from Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, etc. UMNO rather let the foreign exchange flow out of the country, why don’t the government give the PTPTN loans to these private Indian students? This is how racist, religious extremist and supremacist the UMNO regime still is but in One Malay-sia!

RM 6.76 Billion investments in Selangor in 278 projects. But Indians still marginalized under PKR led Selangor govt.

From the 278 projects, 182 are new projects, says Teresa Kok the Exco Member for Investments Industries and Trade (Sinar 25/2/10 at page S3). 59.2% are foreign investors and 40.8% are local investors. Of the local investors we estimate a mere 1% of these investors to be Indians. Why is it difficult to be more transparent and provide more details on who are the local investors?

But despite this wealth and Selangor being the richest state in Malaysia , nothing or very little has been done for the Selangor Indians.

For example the immediate past UMNO Menteri Besar of Selangor Khir Toyo just before the March 8th 2008 General Elections had announced that in Selangor alone there are an estimated 50,000 Indian children without birth certificates. Is the present menteri besar aware of this?

In these two years of PKR led P.R state government in Selangor a department could have been set up at the state Secretariat with a Director, ten Executives, 20 managers and 100 staff to identify, process, liaise, follow up with the National Registration Department officials get and ensure that all these 50,000 Indian children get their birth certificates so that they can go to school, get study loans and scholarships, legally get married, open up businesses, buy a car, motorcycle, lorry and licences to earn a living, open bank accounts, etc. All this is now not possible simply because UMNO has denied these third, forth and even fifth generation Indian children their lawful and legimate elementary birth certificates. This kind of atrocities does not happen in any other part of the world.

But what has this PKR led P.R Selangor State government done to undo the injustices of the previous UMNO regime? Why is Anwar Ibrahim’s PKR a non starter in so far as the Indian problems concerned.

Why is it that this Investments, Industries and Trade portfolio not given to an Indian Adun? Why is lawyer M. Manoharan not qualified to hold that post, and why does PKR, DAP and also PAS follow UMNO’s footsteps and give the Labour, Estate Workers and Welfare Exco post to their head hung low Indian Exco mandores? If that is the case, why not appoint a malay to be the exco for paddy fields, and a chinese to be the exco for tin mines?

Thinking out of the box, why not two Indian Exco posts for Indians?

Why are key Exco positions grabbed by the Malay and Chinese in PKR, DAP and PAS, which otherwise claim to be multi racial?

What then is the difference between UMNO and PKR, DAP and PAS?

PKR Kedah MP mandores lies- No land title for Henrita hindu temple

After reading this morning’s Malaysia Nanban (11/02/2010 at page 4), we called the Padang Serai reporter Mr. M. S. Maniam who honestly confirmed that he personally did not see the land title to the said Hindu temple but was told so by the said Kedah PKR MP mandore.

We politely told him that the sub headlines reads “ Henreta Estate temple gets land title. The reporter promised to get back to us with the telephone number of the temple Vice President Mr Thesigam for our verification but has not done so.

Hundreds if not thousands of such Hindu temples are falsely given the impression especially through the Tamil papers that their Hindu temples have been given titles, but in reality they have not. They know the truth only when the bulldozers come to tear down their temples. But then it would be too late.

Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (Melayu) gets 2,139 acres land from Selangor. Zero for Indians poor.

The Permodalan Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (melayu) (PYBK) gets 866 hectres (2,139 acres) of land to be developed. PYBK has also mortgaged to the Bank land worth more than RM 100 Million (NST 25/2/2010 at page 4). That indicates the value of land allocated.

But the present PKR led Pakatan Rakyat Selangor State government has allocated zero acres of land to the poor and underprivileged Indians in Selangor.

This PKR led state government for a start can grant 1,000 acres of land to 1,000 handcore poor and underprivileged Indians in Selangor and help them set up the modern hydrophonic and cattle and goat farming. This will help alienate hardcore poverty for at least 1,000 hardcore poor Indians in Selangor.

Why not? Why has this not been done?

If not, what then is the difference between UMNO and PKR and P.R.?

DAP Councillor: Flats for poor (Indians) sold to senior MBPJ senior officers.

Poor Indians from Selangor in particular Kampong Lindungan, Lembah Subang and Shah Alam have been denied the low cost flats due to them (Refer NST, Star 25/02/2010 at page S2 and M2). The poor Indians of Kg Lindungan (Kg Medan) for instance have been waiting for 16 long years for a low cost flats and are now told to relocate for the third time from two previous longhouses. Thousands of poor Indians in Selangor are homeless. And now the bombshell is dropped that Senior Petaling Jaya City Council Officers have bought the low cost flats meant in particular the poor Indians.

What has the PKR led Selangor government done for the poor and homeless Indians in Selangor in their two years of rulling Selangor. Time is ticking. PKR and PR only has another two years before the next general elections

PAS, DAP.PKR stop fooling around with mandorism. UMNO stop creating more Indian parties, it just will not work. Come clean with equitable policies and

For any discerning citizen it will be immediately apparent that the only political party in Malaysia that represents the Indians and is in clear opposition to UMNO is the Human Rights Party(HRP). All the other parties ( nine of them -MIC, PPP, IPF, Punjabi Peoples Party, Kimma, Mindraf, MMSP, MCC and MUIP) are just falling over one another fighting to get a lick at the honey. They represent the narrow and selfish interests of those few who will fight to deliver the Indian votes to UMNO in return for a lick at the honey. They are part of the ongoing treachery against the Indians in Malaysia. It is only when the true interests of the working class Indians are represented in the halls of power that the Indians in this country will get to really move on.

Then look at DAP and PKR who also vie for the Indian votes. Yes that is all they are interested in – the Indian votes. And they want the votes cheaply. They will throw maybe two peanuts at their Mandores, not one like UMNO and hope their dues are paid for the votes. They will create an illusion of representation more treacherous than UMNO by saying we have a Deputy Chief Minister II, we have a Speaker of the Assembly who are Indians, did you have that under UMNO. But what is the point of having impotent representatives like that. They make no difference any way. The differences they proudly and shamelessly speak about is like the naming of roads in Penang in Tamil or of giving land to one or two Tamil Schools which anyway gets mired in the mud because of the passing of the buck between PR and UMNO. It is time these politicians understood that there is a price for the votes – they are not going to come cheap anymore. Who is willing to pay the price will get the votes and not any one else. The price is a clear change to policies vis-à-vis the Indians - to solve the endemic problem of poverty among the Indians, to put in place equal rights in all sense, to create equal opportunities in all sense.

This is the price –PAS, DAP.PKR stop fooling around with mandorism, it is not going to work. UMNO stop creating more Indian parties, it just will not work. Come clean with equitable policies and you will see the magic..

It is not Kugan or whoever it is that killed him that is no trial here. It is the entire system of governance in this country that is on trial!

Kugan died while in police custody. He was arrested on Jan 15th 2009. He died six days later on the 20th of Jan 2009. Constable Navindran is charged with causing grievous hurt to Kugan on the 16th at 7.00am and 4.00pm . Kugan died 4 days later on the 20th of January. ASP Rodney Pasla Haris to whom Navindran reported saw none of the injuries which have been so well documented on the last occasion he saw him alive. We will see such facts unfold in the media and the media will not fail to report these insignificant facts and take attention off a very fundamental failure of the system in our country. The Illusions will continue to pour out from this jug of hubris.

It is not Kugan or whoever it is that killed him that is no trial here. It is the entire system of governance in this country that is on trial. The system of governance in general and the system of justice in our country has deteriorated to an extent that the police have become a law unto themselves. This is what is on trial here. Zimbabwe had a system very close to this that the music from the fiddles were more important than burning Rome. The police have become the prosecutor, the judge, the jury and the executioner – all in one, especially when it comes to the lives of defenceless Indians. The Malay-sian police have no right to take the life of any Malaysian, in particular ethnic minority Malaysian Indians.

Indians have become soft targets in the country. There are so many ways in which the system is killing off Indians. The police killing is just one of the ways. The systematic neglect by the UMNO government of the Indians leaving them in an endemic condition of poverty and all the incumbent ills constitute other surreptitious ways of the killing. The average life span of Indians in the country is lowest among the 3 major ethnic groups and there really is no other reason for this than the systematic neglect by the system.

Such Killing of Indians do not even do not get the attention of the supposed “multi racial” Opposition parties top leadership, their 82 Opposition MPs’ including their 11 Indian members of Parliament. Perhaps because names like Kugan or Muruges do not sound anything like Teoh Beng Hock or Anwar Ibrahim! And so the above and thousands of other atrocities against the Indians goes on unabated and with impunity.

There is only one way out, Indians have to win political power on the strength of their numbers and send to the halls of power those who will truly represent the Indians to change the destiny of Indians in this country. We have had 50 years with UMNO and now 2 years with PR and there is absolutely no difference. They cannot take care of Indian interests. We have to learn to stand on our strengths ourselves. Many say this is not possible. We in HRP believe it is possible and we will show the way to get it done.

We believe in the power of the people. When they become aware their strength is formidable. You will see.

Finally Dharshini readmitted to school But who puts UMNO in jail for denying Dharsini a place in the first place

Dharsini a/l Ponnuthurai (14) was finally readmitted into her Secondary school today after her father Ponnuthurai Manickam had reported the matter to HRP about one month ago. We do not view this as an achievement at all as Dharsini should not have been denied entry into school in the first place. This is despite our P. Uthayakumar personally speaking to Puan Zaini the headmistress of SMK Taman Tasik, En Abdul Ghafur the Headmaster of Dharsini’s present school and En. Shamsuri Jamil, the Special Officer to the Education Minister in charge of Teachers and pupils and other personell.

This matter was also highlighted at a Press Conference by HRP Information Chief S. Jayathas and publicized by the media.

Despite all these efforts Dharsini was forced out of school for two months.

Dharsini’s 62 year old aged adopted father on his part had to shuttle from one school to another from the District Education Department to the State Education Department to the Federal Education Department on scores of occasions for his daughter’s basic and fundamental right to education.

Article 8 of the Federal Constitution provides for Equality before the law.

But UMNOs’ 1,016.799 graduates of the Biro Tatanegara programmes implements UMNOs’ racist, religious extremist and supremacist policies.

Such a simple straight forward matter deliberately made thus difficult by UMNO.

Even at the Welfare home earlier. Dharsini was believed to have been converted to Islam with the word binti after her name in her birth certificate which may pose a problem as what had happened to Banggarama of Penang. Her citizenship though she and her mother were born in Malaysia is now causing her this problem of being excluded from Form Two in her Secondary school.

But Article 12 (4) read with the Second Schedule of the Federal Constitution states that the religion of a person under the age of eighteen years shall be decided by his parent or guardian and the Second Scheduled 1 (1) (c) states “every person born within the Federation after September, 1962, of whose parents one at least was at the time of the birth either a citizen or permanently resident in the Federation, or who was not born a citizen of any other country is a citizen by operation of law.

Article 12 provides that there shall be no discrimination against any citizen on the grounds only of religion, race, descent or place of birth.

But all these laws are not abided to by UMNO and are violated with impunity.

Dharsini was forced to miss school by UMNO for almost two months now. The law in Malaysia as in most other countries is a jail sentence for parents who do not send their children to school. But here we have a dedicated pair of adoptive parents who had the heart to adopt baby Dharsini at four years of age from the Welfare Department to give love and life to this young child. But cruel UMNO denies her two months of her precious school life, the unnecessary agony she and her parents had to undergo, the embarrassment, pain, indignity etc.

Room where Kugan's body found now divided in two - Malaysiakini

The interrogation room where a doctor found A Kugan showing no signs of life at the Taipan police station last year, has now been divided into two - the first being a reception room, leading into the second, an office.

Petaling Jaya Sessions judge Aslam Zainuddin found this out as he visited the police station for half an hour today, to familiarise himself with the scene of the crime.

A partition, 10.15cm thick, separates the two rooms. It was put up last July, seven months after the incident. The partition has been built on the spot where Kugan was found dead.

The office, measuring 1.83m by 3.66m, is now occupied by Chief Inspector Harun Abu Bakar

Police constable, V Navindran, 28, is charged with two counts of causing grievous hurt to Kugan, 23, who died while in police custody, at the interrogation roon of the D9 office of the Taipan police station between 7am and 4pm on Jan 16, last year.

On Friday, second prosecution witness, Dr Baldev Singh Gill, 43, testified Navindran had asked him to go to the Taipan USJ police station in Subang Jaya where Kugan, who was being questioned over a car theft in January 2009, needed treatment.

Baldev said he checked Kugan's pulse on the neck and wrists but found no signs of life.

"I then shone a torchlight into his (Kugan's) eyes and there were no reaction. I also used a stethoscope to check his heartbeat but again there were no signs of life," he testified.

Glass door covered

Aslam arrived at the Taipan police station at about 10.42 am. He arrived with DPP Mohd Abazafree Mohd Abbas. They were met by the chief of the station's D9 (serious crimes) unit ASP Rodney Pasla Harris.

Rodney is also the accused's immediate superior. They spent 30 minutes at the interrogation room where Kugan was found.

Navindran's lawyer, PM Nagarajan was also present.

Reporters who were also allowed to see the scene also found the glass door to the entrance of the room being covered with black paper.

It was learnt that initially, it was supposed to be a place where the officers could rest but had been made into an interrogation room.

Outside of the room is an open office area, which Harris said is occupied 24 hours a day.

The case had cause an uproar over the tactics employed by police in interrogating suspects.

Hearing on the matter will resume at 2.30pm at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court, with Harris taking the stand.

Accused cop tells clinic of Kugan's injuries

The accused in the trial of the case of A Kugan, who died in police custody, told a clinic in person that the detainee was gravely ill, the Sessions Court was told today.

Dr Baldev Singh Gill, 43, said constable V Navindran asked him to go to the Taipan USJ police station in Subang Jaya where the detainee, who was being questioned over a car theft in January 2009, needed a treatment.

a kugan murdered assaulted indian youth"The accused looked worried and panic as if it was an emergency. I rushed to the police station," said Baldev Singh, whose clinic is about 200m away.

The doctor said he was brought to the interrogation room on the second floor of the police station where he saw the detainee was seating on the floor with his back leaning to the wall.

Baldev Singh is the second prosecution witness at the trial of a constable with the Subang USJ police station, V Navindran, 28, who was charged with causing grievous hurt to Kugan, 23, who died while in police custody.

The offences were allegedly committed at the interrogation room of the D9 office of the Taipan police station at 7am and 4pm on Jan 16.

Navindran, who is represented by PM Nagarajan, faces two alternative charges of causing hurt to Kugan at the same place and time.

Kugan was detained by the police on Jan 15 on suspicion of being involved in a car theft but died several days later.

Doc saw old wounds on ankle, forearms

Baldev Singh said he checked Kugan's pulse on the neck and wrists and there were no signs of breathing.

"I then used a torchlight to beam into his (Kugan's) eyes and there were no reactions and I also used a stethoscope to check his heart beat but there were also no signs of breathing," he added.

To a question from deputy public prosecutor Lailawati Ali whether there were injury marks on Kugan, Baldev Singh said there were old wounds on his ankle and forearms.

"After examining the victim and found out that he was already dead, I told a police officer to inform a government hospital for a post-mortem to be conducted on the detainee," added Baldev Singh.

He said however, his examination could not conclude the cause of death, instead it should be determined by a post-mortem.

The trial before judge Aslam Zainuddin was adjourned to Monday.

But this MIC Indian mandore has no powers to approve the government welfare help. He can only put up a wayang kulit that he is helping the Indians. The MIC mandore was shocked to see such a number of people registering, showing that the MIC was really out of touch with the ground reality, where poverty is widespread.

PKR Exco Selangor mandore empty promise of temple land, MIC style politics.

Yet again this PKR Indian Selangor exco mandore is making a false promise of land for the Banting Sungai Sidu Mariaman Hindu temple in Selangor (Makkal Osai 16/1/2010 at page 6). But he did not hand over the land title to the temple to the temple committee. Without the title deeds it is just a politician’s promise.

This is this PKR Exco mandore’s modus operandi as what the MIC mandores had been doing for the previous 50 years in Selangor.

By the stroke of his pen his “Tuan” Menteri Besar of Selangor can grant land to all Hindu temples in Selangor but this ex UMNO man turned PKR M.B for Selangor isn’t doing it.

That would give a permanent solution to the Hindu temple demolishment problem in Selangor which in the M.B Khir Toyo regime was demolishing at the rate of one Hindu temple in every ten days as revealed at the Selangor State assembly in early 2009.

Since this PKR mandore like the previous MIC mandore is powerless, he wants to to be seen to be doing something. So this PKR mandore continues the puppet shadow play (wayang kulit) that was played for 50 years by the previous MIC Mandores.

Come what may Anwar Ibrahim is a former UMNO man and is and will continue this mandore politics in Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Perak (earlier) and most likely even if and when he takes over federal power in Malaysia.

Malaysia plans to increase pre school (malay muslim) children from 76% to 87% by 2013 say the Secretary General of the Education Ministry (NST 29/1/2010 at page 25).

But UMNO denies pre school and even kindergarden to 95% of the poor, working class and underprivileged Indian children.

Yet another tip of the iceberg of UMNOs; racist, religious extremist and supremacist agenda which they package as Prime Minister Najib Razak’s One Malay-sia?

Wayang kulit MIC mandore empty politics for Batu Estate Indians.

Not many may know that a large part of Segambut was once an estate.

Instead of fulfilling the UMNO government’s Estate Workers Housing Scheme, after 52 years of independence these Indians at their old age after having sucked out their most from their labour are now promised peanuts of RM 10,000.00. And that is if and when they actually receive this RM 10,000.00.

But what happens to them after they finish up their RM 10,000.00.

Why can’t UMNO grant them the ten acre land ownership schemes in Felda, Felcra, Risda, Fama, Agropolition Kesedar, Kejora etc and offer them a permanent solution as opposed to the usual piecemeal paper politics. Afterall these Indians are the displaced plantation workers, whereas land is allocated to Malays under the many schemes even when they are not displaced persons.
