Our New Year Wishes

A response to Ridhuan Tee: All Malaysians have special rights

Sometime ago I wrote this piece below which I think is relevant to as a response to Dr. Ridhuan Tee Abdullah's insistence that the "Malay-Muslim" group has a natural dominance over others.

A REPUBLIC OF VIRTUE

Azly Rahman

http://azlyrahman-illuminations.blogspot.com/

"Therefore, the rakyat must unite and never raise issues regarding Malay rights and special privileges because it is a quid pro quo in gratitude for the giving in of citizenship (beri-paksa kerakyatan) to 2.7 million non-Malays into the Tanah Melayu federation....Thus, it is not appropriate for these other ethnic groups to have citizenship, only (later) to seek equality and privileges," said Tengku Faris, who read from a 11-page prepared text.

As a Malaysian who believes in a social contract based on the notion that ‘all Malaysians are created equal’, I do not understand the ‘royal statement’.

If it comes from the Biro Tatanegara (BTN), I can understand the confusion. But this is from a royal house.

This statement was valid 50 years ago, before Independence. This is an outdated statement that is not appreciated by the children of those who have laboured for this nation.

I believe we should look forward to institutionalising ‘special rights for all Malaysians’. The word ‘special’ is in itself special. Culturally it can either denote an enabling condition or a disabling one.

In the study of religion, one is bestowed a special place for living life well or for doing good deeds. In educational studies, ‘special education’ caters for the needs of those with a disabling physical, emotional or cognitive condition.

In all these, ‘special rights’ are accorded based on merit. One works hard to get special offers and into special places.

In the doctrine of the ‘divine rights of kings’, one's special right is the birthright. Louis XVI of revolutionary France, Shah Jehan of Taj Mahal fame, Emperor Hirohito of Japan, Shah Reza Pahlavi of Revolutionary Iran, King Bumiphol Adulyadev, and the sultans of Melaka were ‘special people’ who designed institutions that installed individuals based on rights sanctioned through a ‘mandate of heaven’.

Such people use specialised language to differentiate who is special and who is not. Court language is archaic, terse, meant to instill fear and to institutionalise special-ness.

The language of the street or market is fluid, accommodating, meant to instill open-ness and institutionalise creativity at its best and further development of the ‘underclass’ at its worst.

This continuum of language, power, and ideology is characteristic of histories of nations. In Malay history, istana language is enshrined in the hikayat and in Tun Seri Lanang's Sejarah Melayu. Street language used in Malay folklore and in bawdy poems, pantun and stories of Sang Kancil.

Class consciousness, many a sociologist would say, dictates the special-ness of people across time and space. Historical-materialism necessitates the development of the specialised use and abuse of language. One can do a lot of things with words. Words can be deployed to create a sustainable and profitable master-slave relationship.

A better argument

Let us elevate the argument so that we will have a better view of what race, ethnicity, nationalism and cosmopolitanism means.

I propose we review what “special rights of the Malays" mean in light of 50 years of Independence and post-March 8, 2008.

I agree we must give credit to those working hard to "improve the psychological well-being of the Malays" and for that matter for any race to improve its mental wellness. This is important. This is a noble act.

The question is: in doing so, do we want to plant the seeds of cooperation and trust - or racial discrimination and deep hatred? Herein lies the difference between indoctrination and education.

These days, the idea of Ketuanan Melayu is going bankrupt, sinking with the bahtera merdeka. It works only for Malay robber barons who wish to plunder the nation by silencing the masses and using the ideological state apparatuses at their disposal.

In the case of the BTN it is the work of controlling the minds of the youth. Its work should not be allowed any more in our educational institutions. It is time our universities especially are spared counter-educational activities, especially when they yearn to be free of the shackles of domination.

Over decades, many millions of Malays and non-Malays have not been getting the right information on our nation's history, political-economy, and race relations. History that is being shoved into us or filter-funnelled down the labyrinth of our consciousness is one that is already packaged, biased, and propagandised by historians who became text-books writers.

History need not be Malay-centric. Special rights for all Malaysians should be the goal of distributive and regulative justice of this nation, not the "special rights of a few Malays". History must be presented as the history of the marginalisd, the oppressed and the dispossessed of all races.

We toil for this nation, as the humanist Paramoedya Ananta Toer would say, by virtue of our existence as anak semua bangsa ... di bumi manusia. Malaysia is a land of immigrants.

In this regard we can learn from the former British colony called America. Whatever its shortcomings, it is a land of immigrants and is still evolving. A black man or a woman can become president. This is what America conceives itself to be and this is what Malaysian can learn from. Can a non-Malay become prime minster if he/she is the most ethical of all politicians in the country?

No one particular race should stake a claim to Malaysia. That is an idea from the old school of thought, fast being abandoned. Each citizen is born, bred, and brought to school to become a good law-abiding and productive Malaysian citizen, is accorded the fullest rights and privileges and will carry his/her responsibility as a good citizen.

That is what ‘surrendering one's natural rights to the state’ means. One must read Rousseau, Locke, Voltaire, and Jefferson to understand this philosophy. A bad government will not honour this - and will fall, or will sink like the bahtera merdeka.

The history of civilisations provides enough examples of devastation and genocide as a consequence of violent claims to the right of this or that land based upon some idea of ‘imagined communities’. We must teach our children to make a history of peace among nations. This must be made into a new school of thought: of ‘new bumiputeraism’ that encompasses all and does not alienate any. Life is too short for each generation to fight over greed.

The eleventh hour of human existence and our emergence in this world has brought about destruction as a consequence of our inability to mediate differences based on race, colour, creed, class and national origin. Each ethnic group thinks that it is more socially-dominant than the other. Each does not know the basis of its ‘self’. Each fails to realise its DNA-make up or gene map.

Life is an existential state of beingness, so must history be conceived as such. Nationalism can evolve into a dangerous concept - that was what happened to Europe at the brink of the two World Wars. It happened in the former Yugoslavia, Rwanda, and in Indonesia when Suharto fell.

I argue that we must evolve in the historical presence of historical constructions. The past and the future is in the present. Let us not argue any more over this or those rights. Let us instead treat each other right.

Dr M wrong on choice between Indian and Muslim - Malaysiakini

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's advice to Malaysia's Indian Muslims to choose between their Muslim and their Indian identities puts one in mind of a resonant episode in the immediate prelude to the partition of India in mid-1947.

A delegation of Indian Muslims, contemplating abandoning their homes in India for the new entity called Pakistan, went to see Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the highest ranked Muslim in the Congress Party and a strong foe of partition.

Islamic scholar Azad, who was born in Mecca, was renowned for the battles he had waged for communal unity in India, for its freedom from Britain, and for secularism.

His visitors were in no doubt about where Azad stood on the matter of partition: he was unalterably opposed and an arch critic of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, head of the Muslim League and fervent proponent of separation.

The delegation just wanted to see for themselves if Azad would waver from his resolute anti-partition stance at a perilous time.

June 1947 comprised an exaggerated moment in Indian history. It is just such moments of extremity that best reveal the essence of things. And Azad demonstrated the seer-like qualities of his stature as a leader when he posed this question to the delegation: “Where will you go should you discover that Pakistan is not your home?”

Of course, none of his visitors could countenance the notion that their anticipated new abode could turn out to be forbidding.

Many of those who went to see Azad settled in the Sind region of newly-formed Pakistan, of which Karachi is the metropolis.

Fast forward 40 years to the late 1980s: The city becomes a maelstrom of communal violence between the muhajirs (Indian Muslims from India who moved to Sind and west Punjab after partition) and the indigenes.

The bursts of violence were frequent, horrific and sustained, and were caused by muhajir resentment at being marginalised by the indigenes of Sind.

Two decades before the muhajir-inspired convulsions in the Sind of the late 1980s and after, the world had already witnessed the animosity between Muslim Bengalis and the Punjabi Muslim-dominated Pakistan army that led to the war of secession in East Pakistan, which then became Bangladesh.

A notable feature of this war in 1971 was that here the muhajirs (Bihar Muslims who had immigrated at the time of partition to East Bengal/East Pakistan) backed the elitist Punjabi soldiers of the Pakistani army in the battle against indigenous Bengali Muslims.

From not only these facets of subcontinent history but from several others the world over in the last century, particularly if you take the flux and flow of sectarian allegiances in Lebanon, it is not hard to conclude that parochially-constituted identities provide no lasting solder by which to glue a national identity.

One can be both Indian and Muslim

Mahathir's positing of a dichotomy – either you are Indian or you are Muslim (and therefore Malay) – to Muslim Indians in Malaysia has been proven by recent history to be a delusive conceit.

Maulana Azad espoused a composite view of national identity to partition-leaning Muslims of the Indian subcontinent six decades ago: He held you could be Indian and Muslim at the same time, in contradistinction to the great Indian poet Mohamed Iqbal, who in a famous disquisition in 1930 argued that the Muslim identity would fade in an independent India. Hence a separate homeland for Muslim Indians was imperative.

Admittedly, it is a long way from Maulana Azad to Gerald Manley Hopkins, a 19th century English poet, of special resonance in these ecologically fraught times.

Hopkins loved nature in which he saw a “dappled” and “pied” quality of contrasting elements forming the same pattern which he tried to reproduce in his poems.

“Glory to God for dappled things,” he rhapsodised in one of his best poems, a cosmic plea for seeing things as nature would have us - as “both/and” and not as “either/or”.

Muslim Indians in Malaysia can be Malaysian, Muslim and Indian at the same time, a triple and sustainable (nice ecologically friendly word that!) identity that betters Azad, and tributes Hopkins.

Hindraf leaders squabble over accounts - Malaysiakini

Another crisis has erupted in the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) as the two main factions charge each other of cheating over the movement's funds.

NONEOn one side are Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy (right) and legal advisor P Uthayakumar, who have appointed a firm to audit the accounts of Hindraf Enterprise, a private company intended as a shell to collect funds for Hindraf in late 2007.

On the other are former Hindraf treasurer K Vasanthakumar and V Ganabatirao, who accuse Waythamoorthy of misappropriating funds collected for families of the five Hindraf leaders detained under the Internal Security Act.

Uthayakumar, Vasanthakumar and Ganabatirao were among the three ISA detainees, but since their detention they have had a falling out. Waythamoorthy is self-exiled in London.

On Thursday, at a press conference Vasanthakumar claimed that he is the sole proprietor of Hindraf Enterprise and Waythamoorthy had no business trying to pry into his accounts.

Instead, he demanded that Waythamoorthy reveal what happened to the tens of thousands collected after the five were arrested on Dec 13, 2007.

Vasan 'exonerates' Waytha

In a statement today, Waythamoorthy said funds collected in the name on Hindraf, but not banked into Hindraf Enterprise's accounts, were in the hands of independent auditors.

Turning to Vasanthakumar, Waythamoorthy explained that they were introduced on Oct 2007 and the former was made treasurer as he claimed to be a bank officer.

"It later came as a shock to me that he had instead opened an account for a stationery business under the name of Hindraf Enterprise and appointed himself director," said Waythamoorthy.

He said a lot of money was banked into Hindraf Enterprise by well wishers of the Hindraf movement and this should be accounted for.

He said Vasanthakumar (below) should not use this funds for personal use or the stationary business and make the accounts public..

"NONEI am glad finally for the first time Vasanthakumar has admitted to opening an account under the name of Hindraf Enterprise, which exonerates me of any fund collection," he said.

Waythamoorthy added that it was strange since the very people who were accusing him of embezzlement, are refusing to openly declare Hindraf Enterprise's accounts to independent auditors.

by iilidetector - 6 hours ago

Everyone is accusing each other of taking money, but the deafening silence is from Waytha. He has not uttered a single word for past 2 years on how he can stay in an expensive city like London. Who is paying for his food and board. I understand he underwent heart treatment in London as well, was it from a private Specialist ? Who gave him funds to fly to Singapore to see Datuk Zaid in a hotel ?

by matahari - 7 hours ago

This crook vasanthakumar has got into his own trap. Initially he blamed the Hindraf brothers. Now after admitting he is the holder of Hindraf Ent he is caught in a catch 22 situation. Crooks always get caught in their own trap.Vasanthakumar rao is a disgrace to Hindraf and Indian community. Their task is to destroy Hindraf but looks like they are destroying themselves.

by Thanabalan - 7 hours ago

Whatever, we are among the contributors, we want this topic to be halted now. If one wants to fight for the community, be a gentlemen. We dont mind how the money spend, but with our contrubutions yet they cant get back what they lost and kept losing. They deserve for what they sacrifice. Common, splitting the community in facts as a human we should catergorise as the lowest cast, this aplicable.

iiliedetector you are talking rubbish. U got your facts mixed up or u are pretending to be ignorant. Vasantha admits he is the Director of Hindraf enterprise. The money was collected into this account. The person responsible is vasantha and not Waytha. Why is vasantha being a chicken now. We know Vasantha has been instigating the public and those accused for illegal assembly and we know how the Tamil papers manipulate the story. After all the accusations it is not clear vasantha rao and raidu have to account for the funds. Why are they shy to cooperate with the public accountants. What Waytha is doing is right-get the accounts verified by independent professionals. Soon i believe vasantha is going to say the accountants have swindled the money.

by iilidetector - 9 hours ago

The timing of the allegations is very fishy. Waytha disappeared on Nov 07 and Vasanta was under ISA in March 08. Why bring up these allegations after 2 long years? The answer is very simple-Hindraf has lost it's influence because there are many Indian leaders to choose from.Money has been collected and money has to be accounted for. Who were the people authorized by Hindraf to collect money. In a report, in the Star paper, a few months ago, 18 ppl now being charged for the Hindraf demo went to Uthaya's office and asked for the accounts for the money collected. He told them he could not give an updated account because the person had left his job! He then proceeded to give them RM 50. There is no need to talk so much. Ask Waytha to tell us what funds he is using to 1) Finance his board and lodging in UK 2) How he managed to pay for his heart treatment in London 3) How he managed to fly to Singapore to meet Datuk Zaid in a hotel. Like I said, why bring up these allegations after so long?

by Zamani - 10 hours ago

In my opinion none of the hindraf guys are interested in abusing the money. Waytha, Kumar, Vasantha, Ganabathi rao, Genga or Mano - all of them have immensely contributed. Fighting over these accounts is a complete misdirection. Stop all these rubbish and get on with your work. The more you guys argue and talk the worst you become. You have earned yourself a place in the community, time to live up to that image. If there is diagreement in directions amongst you, let it be so. Public are not fools, they will judge whom to trust!

Did the Hindraf Brothers organize road shows to collect any money for the detainees’ families????? Waythamoorthy was in self exile while Uthayakumar was in Kamunting Camp. Then who organize the road show??? The Indian mandor from DAP especially people like Sivanesan and Prof.Ramasamy together with Ganabatirao’s brother Raidu were doing the collection. So now WHO should show the accounts??? DSP. Vasanthakumar of Special Branch for Hindraf account. And as for the detainees’’ family account it should be Sivanesan, Pro. Ramasamy and Raidu. Why are these jokers going after Waythamoorthy?

Waytha has been under attack for a long time. They keep blaming him for fund collections which ended up in millions. The truth is he was out of the country all these while. Now the truth is revealed-Vasanthakumar has openly declared that he is the owner of Hindraf enterprise. So the onus is on him to reveal the monies that was collected. There is only 1 account and Vasantha is the Director of that account. Obviously the Special branch has a hand in this. They are penetrating well into Hindraf. My advise to Indians ignore this plants and moles and move on. The community needs reputable leaders. People like Vasantha and Rao are cheap characters.

by matahari - 13 hours ago

It is obvious Vasanthakumar is splitting the movement. I have noticed from the day he was released. He and his honcos only speak about money right from the time they were in detention. They never took part in any of the Hindraf activities nor have they thanked Hindraf and its thousands of supporters that organised campaigns to get them released. truly ungrateful. The SB is doing his part well. Finally he admitted he opened an account but used Hindraf name to open up a stationery business. Innocent people banked into that account. So who is the crook now? The truth will come out slowly albeit surely. I personally donated to Rao's family for the benefit of the 5 but he denies now.

by Mydin Kutty - 13 hours ago

Hindraf became a giant overnite and the UMNo could never take nor accept that they challenged the might of UMNO. The Police is assigned to destroy Hindraf and that is exactly what they are doing. The special branch plant and Rao are doing ecactly that. From the time of being released they speak only money and have forgotten the cause. Its a pity they have become slaves of money and UMNo instead of fighting the true cause raised by waytha and uthaya.

ASB : RM 4.95 Billion plus RM 537.65 Million bonus payout to 6.78 million (malay muslims), says the Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) Tun Ahmad Sarji. But why is this part of the country’s wealth not shared with the poor and working class Indians. Why are the Indians yet again being excluded from the national mainstream development of Malaysia.

The UMNO Amanah Saham 1 Malaysia ASB, PNB or any other such shares gives out lucrative dividends and bonuses of 7.3% and upwards even up to 12%.

IF only UMNO and PNB arranges for Maybank, CIMB etc loans for these poor and working class Indians as they have done for the malay muslims, these Indians would have also benefited at least from the 7.3% minus 4% bank interest ie 3.3% net profit per annum returns. Just by lending and or giving their names and their Identity Cards and without taking out a single cent to Maybank, CIMB etc these poor and working class Indians would be guaranteed a minimum of a couple of thousand ringgit of this PNB bonuses and dividends every year. It is in effect free money by the UMNO government but the poor Indians are excluded.

This UMNO government’s scheme of redistributing the wealth of the country to the poor must also reach out to the poor and working class Indians as it reaches out the Malay muslims.

Hindraf's ex-treasurer fumes over request for accounts - Malayskiakini

Former Hindraf treasurer K Vasanthakumar is up in arms over a demand for the movement to open up its accounts for scrutiny by P Waythamoorthy's lawyers.

Accounting firm Padmarajah & Co have been tasked by legal firm Kumar, Hashimah & Co acting on behalf of the Hindraf chairperson to look into the status of the accounts.

Waythamoorthy had recently sent a letter of demand to Vasanthakumar and three others, asking them to retract statements they made, imputing that he swindled money meant for Hindraf's cause.

hindraf pc 241209 k vasanthakumarBesides Vasanthakumar (right), V Ganabatirao, DAP Sungkai assemblyperson A Sivanesan and Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy were told that if they refused to retract their statements and issue an apology, he would sue them.

A fuming Vasanthakumar said: "I'm the sole owner of Hindraf Enterprise with a single bank account in RHB bank in my name. Padmarajah & Co have no business meddling into the accounts of Hindraf Enterprise."

Vasanthakumar explained that he held Hindraf Enterprise's accounts until Dec 13, 2007 when he was detained under the Internal Security Act for 18 months.

"Monies collected after that should be revealed by the 10 coordinators appointed by Wathamoorthy," said Vasanthakumar at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.

'Waytha playing a Tom and Jerry game'

hindraf pc 241209 k vasanthakumar, v ganabatirao, v papparaiduGanabatirao who was also at the press conference said: "Waythamoorthy is playing a Tom and Jerry game.

"We've asked him to account for the money collected by his appointed coordinators for the five detainees' families numerous times."

Waythamoorthy recently also sent another letter of demand to Ganabatirao's brother Papparaidu demanding that Papparaidu return RM50,000 belonging to Hindraf.

Ganabatirao said the RM50,000 was used to post bail for Hindraf's legal advisor P Uthayakumar when he was detained by the police prior to the latter's ISA arrest. It does not belong to Hindraf as it came from other sources, he added.

"Did he (Waythamoorthy) send similar letters to the coordinators that he appointed, such as S Jayathas and RS Thanenthiran?" asked Ganabatirao.

He also questioned how Padmarajah & Co, can claim to act on behalf of a banned organisation.

NONEOn the same note, he demanded Waythamoorthy (right) to disclose the full details of the money collected on behalf of the Hindraf 5's families after their ISA arrest.

"Failure to do so would force me to lodge a report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission," he threatened.

He said Hindraf coordinators made massive collections through fund raising dinners and the sale of Hindraf paraphernalia in the name of the families but not a single cent was given to them.

"Now they claim it is in Hindraf's accounts," he said.

In addition, he also wants Waythamoorthy, who is currently in London, to return the RM110,000 that was collected by Papparaidu and banked into the account of Kumar Hashimah & Co on Dec 18, 2007.

He said Papparaidu would ensure that the money is given to the families of the Hindraf detainees.

Meanwhile, when contacted yesterday, Sivanesan asked for proof as to when Waythamoorthy was appointed or elected as Hindraf chairperson.

He also faxed a letter to Kumar Hashimah & Co asking for documentary evidence that Hindraf is a registered organisation.

Hoorah finally the truth is coming out from the mouth of the crooks. all the while they accused waytha of swindling the money. Now that waytha is taking the legal steps and appointing the accountants, looks like they are shivering. well coupled with the civil suit these crooks would be jammed. Now let the public know who are the real crooks. If vasantha kumar can admit he is the sole owner of Hindraf Enterprise then the onus and responsibility is on him. The intelligent would be able to differentiate between what is pure gold and gold covering. Hindraf and its leaders are pure. The crooks are being cornered legally now. I think they are panicking.

Dei madaya Vasamthakumar, if ur solely represent Hindraf enterprise. and ur the treasurer for Hindraf, than ur the culprit of swindle the money. ur the one supposed to show the account and ur should take accountability of these money. why should wathamoorthy answer for this. he sound like damn stupid right. hahahahahah

by Bozuka - 11 hours ago

As explained by Vasanthakumar he was operating the account and he is the signatory of this account. As such the onus lies with Vasanthakumar and NOT Waythamoorthy to account for every single cent collected under Hindraf account. Rao if you want to implicate Thanenthiran please go ahead. Sivanesan you need to account for the monies collected at Perai, Padang Serai and Kulim under the name of Hindraf ISA detainees’ family monthly expenses. I’m sure your memory is coming back now

Ithu thaanda, madayargala. If Sivanesan thinks Waythamoorthy was never elected or appointed by anyone as Hindraf chairman, then he should not have rode on the Hindraf-inspired Makkal Sakti wave in the last general election to register his first ever electoral success after series of flops. Vasanthakumar and Ganabatirau can dream on to hijack Hindraf or Indian masses. One needs talent to lead a community. Both severely lack it.

S. Ponny 33, 3 children, RM 300.00 p.m. welfare help, poor single parent.

This single parent in addition to her three step children also has to bring up a two year old handicapped child (since birth) (Utusan Malaysia 7/12/09 at page 16).

Earnings below RM 478.00 per month has been capped as the cut off point for the hardcore poor in the Ninth Malaysia Plan. But Ponny’s welfare aid is about 40% below the hardcore poverty rate.

To make matters worse there is no way this single parent could go to work with these four very young children.

Her husband left her. We assess it was because of poverty related problems. Unlike a Malay muslim, an Iban, Kadazan, orang asli or even a Chinese who would have village or Chinese New Village to go to or to fall back on, this poor Indian lady would have to end up paying at least about RM 200.00 per month in rentals alone. Now what does Ponny do with the balance of the RM 100.00 per month and with five mouths to feed. What’s the future of her four children? Especially the handicapped child whose pampers alone would cost about RM 300.00 per mouth that the Welfare Department is giving her.

Malaysia which can afford to build the tallest twin towers in the world and Petronas’ profit for the first six months of 2009 alone being RM 22 Billion (NST 9/12/09 front page) and the RM 191.5 Billion 2010 budget (NST, Star 24/10/2009 headlines) can certainly give Ponny a government flat/house and RM 900.00 per month as state welfare financial assistance and thereby keeping her above the hardcore poverty level and alleviating her day to day mysery.

Ponny would get no extra help from Baitumal, JAIS, JAKIM, Tabung Haji, Perkim etc. Had Ponny been a Malay muslim, she would have received this help if not the ten acre land ownership scheme in Felda, Felcra, Risda, FAMA, Agropolition etc or the scores of land schemes for livestock and the government’s One District One Industry plan. At the very least S.Ponny and her four children could keep afloat above the hardcore poverty level in these land ownerships schemes with the assistance of her three children. But there is no history in the last forty years or so of UMNO giving the poor Indians land in these aforesaid land ownership schemes.

Ponny is a classical example of a potential committing suicide case which is 600% higher than for the Malays. (Refer Malaysian Indian Minority & Human Rights Violations Annual Report 2008 to Pravasi Bharathiya Divas International Conference at Chennai, India 7th – 9th January 2009)

UMNO must give Ponny and thousands of other Indians the right to a decent livelihood and not these peanuts welfare help of RM 100.00 to RM 300.00 per month. We want a permanent solutions and not piecemeal UMNO politics. UMNO has to leach Ponny how to catch fish and not by giving her one fish every month.

One Dollar to create one Indian “entrepreneur” in One

But UMNO gets their Indian Businessman mandores to make media statements otherwise. So this Indian mandore now sings a song that the Indians do not know of these government loans and grants and that very few apply and their application forms were not in order etc etc. (The Star 17/12/2009 at page N31)

But the fact remains that the UMNOs’ racist civil servants Biro Tata Negara “graduates” who are specially trained at a Malay-sian budget of RM 55 Million per year reject these Indian applicant’s applications even at the counter level.

While the 2010 National Budget is RM 191.5 Billion UMNO allocates this RM 2 Million loans to the 2 Million Indians to develop Indian entrepreneurs @ RM 1.00 per head.

We do not want these 52 year old “peanuts paper politics” of RM 1.00 per Indian but want to be part and “parcel of the RM 191.5” Billion 2010 national 2010 Budget vis a vis the national mainstream development of Malaysia.

There handicapped in one family, house sealed by UMNO govt.

The UMNO Port Dickson Municipal Council has yesterday sealed off the house and locked out this poor Indian family whose father Micheal Susai (53) and two other children are handicapped as they could not afford to pay their housing installments. They have earlier paid for 15th year and have a balance of only a mere RM 8, 000.00 to settle. They have been denied even their very basic Welfare help by UMNO but which boasts of the world’s tallest Twin Tower.

Hindu Temple demolish: PKR & MIC Indian mandore Perak State Speakers’ wayang kulit.

Almost every day especially in the three Tamil dailies there are reports about some hindu temple, crematorium, Tamil schools or Indian settlements that is being demolished, given notice and/or threatened to be demolished or given notice to be relocated to another “dubious piece of land” which in turn would face demolishment anyway in a few years time to come. The latest being the Batu Gajah Hindu Temple (refer The Star 11/12/09 at page N56).

But here both the PKR and MIC Indian Perak State Speaker mandores are playing “wayang kulit”. When DAP, PKR and PAS were in power after March 8th 2008 general elections, this DAP State Speaker Indian mandore could not secure his PAS “Tuan” Menteri Besar to grant Perak State Government land to this Batu Gajah Hindu temple. But within one month of coming to power the DAP, PKR and PAS state government granted land to 110,000 (almost all malay muslims) Rancangan Kampong Tersusun, 102,000 Chinese New Villagers, 3.3 hectres (about 10 acres) for each and every Orang Asli, 30 hectres for the Premier International University and with an option of another 20 additional hectres (The Selangor PKR led State government similarly granted 1,000 hectres for pig farmers in Sepang and an accompanying RM 100 Million grant).

But similarly land was refused to be granted for all Hindu temples, crematoriums and Tamil schools in Perak all of which are for the general public purposes. This could have been done by merely the stroke of the PAS Perak Menteri Besar’s pen. And this DAP Indian mandore Speaker never uttered a word then. Now that he is out of power only now he wants to champion this hindu temple and other Indian causes etc.

Similarly the MIC mandore speaker is now in power but he too cannot get his “Tuan” Menteri Besar to grant Perak State government land to this Batu Gajah hindu temple and all hindu temples, crematoriums and to all the 138 Tamil schools in Perak. Thus the wayang kulit tale of the two Indian DAP and MIC mandore Speakers in Perak.
